Wendouree Cabernet Malbec 2022
There is no website. No cellar door. No email address. To join the mailing list, you write a letter — by hand — explaining why you deserve a place on it. The waiting list is very long. None of this has changed in over 130 years, and none of it is going to.
The vines — Shiraz, Malbec, Mataro and Cabernet Sauvignon — grow in the Clare Valley at altitude, in ancient chocolate-brown clay soils that force them to work for every gram of fruit they produce. The diurnal temperature range swings more than 20 degrees Celsius between day and night, building density without losing definition — a structural tension that warmer, more fashionable regions simply cannot replicate. Low yields. Old vines. No shortcuts.
For anyone who understands what they're looking at, no further explanation is required. For everyone else, this is where the education begins.
Wendouree Cabernet Malbec 2022 is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
