Pooley Chardonnay Butcher's Hill 2023

Pooley Butcher's Hill Chardonnay is a benchmark, single-vineyard expression of cool-climate Tasmanian Chardonnay crafted by winemaker Anna Pooley in the Coal River Valley. Grown on steep, north-facing slopes with dolerite and sandstone soils surrounding the family’s historic Richmond estate, it delivers exceptional depth, structural focus, and age-worthiness.

Whole-bunch pressed and barrel-fermented in fine French oak with partial malolactic fermentation, the wine opens with lifted aromas of white peach, nectarine, lime zest, and toasted hazelnut. On the palate, a pristine beam of natural acidity cuts through a textured, pastry-like richness, finishing with a long, stony, and chalky mineral drive.
