Polperro Pinot Noir Little Laney Single Vineyard 2023

An exquisite, site-specific expression of cool-climate Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir from the high-altitude Red Hill sub-region. Grown on rich, red volcanic soils with an easterly aspect, the Little Laney block yields fruit of exceptional purity, perfume, and structural fine-grained finesse. Crafted by winemaker Sam Coverdale using whole-bunch wild fermentation and gentle aging in French oak, the wine opens with high-toned aromas of dark wild cherries, black plum, dried thyme, violets, and a subtle streak of exotic spice. On the palate, it exhibits weightless intensity—framing vibrant red and dark berry fruit around a spine of fine, silky tannins and bright, natural acidity, leading to a long, chalky, and beautifully savoury finish.
