Maison Valette Mâcon-Chaîntre is a benchmark for natural, unmanipulated Chardonnay from the Southern Burgundy region of Mâconnais, crafted by Philippe Valette. Sourced from organically and biodynamically farmed old vines on clay-limestone soils, this cuvée undergoes an exceptionally long, patient maturation on fine lees—often spending two to three years in old oak barrels with minimal added sulfur. Unfined and unfiltered, the wine yields a deeply complex, textured profile marked by bruised orchard fruit, preserved lemon, beeswax, hazelnuts, and a distinct, savoury chalky minerality.
