If Prieur des Noues represents the newest chapter at Château de Bonnezeaux, Fief Prévost is the oldest — a single-vineyard cuvée, first produced in 2017, drawn entirely from the estate's most venerable vines, averaging around 70 years of age. The plot itself spans three hectares, but only one qualifies for the Bonnezeaux appellation proper; the remainder, with too much clay lying over the underlying schist, is declassified and bottled simply as Vin de France — one of the quirks of working within France's rigid old wine laws in a region historically permitted only sweet wine. Production has always been tiny, with the first vintage totalling just four small 400-litre barrels, and Guyonne Saclier de la Bâtie handles it with the same minimal-intervention, biodynamic philosophy that runs through the rest of the estate.

The result is unmistakably a wine of old vines and serious terroir: rocky and intensely mineral, with lemon and citrus peel, wet limestone, and ripe yellow stone fruit on the nose, occasionally taking on a gingered, faintly oxidative complexity with a touch of marzipan and spice as it opens in the glass. The palate carries real depth and grip, finishing long and flinty, with that rocky, saline drive that marks out the finest dry Chenins of Anjou.
