Yabby Lake Vineyard Pinot Noir Single Block Release Block 2 2022

Yabby Lake was established in 1998 by Robert and Mem Kirby in the Mooroduc sub-region of the Mornington Peninsula, and its wines are made by Tom Carson, widely regarded as one of Australia's top winemakers. The Single Block Release wines are the estate's most site-specific bottlings, each showing a single parcel's character. Block 2 is the structured, darker one of the group: Wine Compass describes a style with powerful tannins and spicy baked cherry flavours, in contrast to the more perfumed Block 6 and the earthier, whole-bunch-heavy Block 1.

The result is a brooding, concentrated Pinot Noir with a liqueur-like raspberry and cherry nose, dark cherry, spice and silky tannins, and a firm structure.
