Critic tasting note: (2012 vintage) "Early rains set up the 2012 vintage to handle the inevitable warm dry weather that mark the summer. Another splash or rain in late August brought the vineyard back to life and up a great fall finish. Structure with finesse is what the new Tignanello is all about. Fragrant, floral with red and black fruits jumping from the glass. We love the richness offset by the acidity, the minerals and the rosemary underbrush notes that temper the fruit. Built to age you can easily wait until 2020 to open this wine and it will repay ageing through 2032. The blend is 80/5/15 sangiovese, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. Be patient.
