Expert tasting note: (2001 vintage) "Deep, dark ruby-red is all but opaque. Dark cassis & cherry fruit is restrained, what shows is new oak and cocoa. Dark fruit is brooding & the good acidity gives it some liveliness. There is plenty of well-handled oak creates a good structure with nice crunchiness. The flavors last well. This is a nicely balanced wine which is currently introverted, but which will be spectacular with time." - 11/05 DCAMW
