Rocche Costamagna Barolo Rocche Dell'Annunziata 2019

Regular price $107.00

Rocche Costamagna has farmed this single vineyard for over two centuries — the Costamagna family's roots in Rocche dell'Annunziata run so deep that the cru itself was already documented in a La Morra land registry back in 1477, once tended by Benedictine monks. Renato Ratti's landmark 1971 Carta del Barolo named it a "cru of first category," and modern cru specialist Alessandro Masnaghetti calls it simply the most renowned vineyard in all of La Morra. This 2019 delivers on that pedigree: an elegant, aromatic Barolo with cedar, orange peel, wild strawberry and rose water on the nose, framed by refined, polished tannins and vivid acidity that carries through to a long, herbal finish.

2019 is a celebrated modern Barolo vintage — classical, well-balanced, built for the long haul — and this wine has already picked up 95-point scores from major critics, with reviewers noting real freshness and elegance alongside a subtle graphite and violet complexity. It's a beautiful expression of La Morra's more perfumed, refined side of Barolo, from a family that's been custodians of this exact hillside since well before Italy was a unified country. A wine for guests who want serious Barolo pedigree without reaching for the very top shelf — drinking beautifully now, with a decade or more ahead of it.
