This is more deeply pitched still with its pungently earthy aromas that see added breadth in the form of humus, violet, plum and a hint of smoked meat. There is good energy to the supple and round flavors that are finer than usual thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins that add shape to the attractively complex and persistent finish. I wouldn't call this a Savigny of finesse but neither is it rustic. - Burghound
