Jean-François Ganevat needs little introduction to serious Jura drinkers — a former Burgundy hand who returned to his family's vines in Rotalier and, alongside his sister Anne, built one of the most fêted and sought-after domaines in France. Beyond the estate's own vineyards, the pair also bottle a range of négociant cuvées under the label "Anne et Jean-François Ganevat," sourcing Chardonnay from growers across the southern Jura and the Arbois appellation and applying the same fastidious, hands-off philosophy to fruit they didn't grow themselves. "Les Arces" is one such cuvée — a single-site Arbois Chardonnay handled with the same patience and precision that has made the Ganevat name legendary, spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for roughly two years in older wood before being bottled without fining, filtration, or added sulphur

The result is a Jura Chardonnay of real presence: aromatic and floral on the nose, with a dense, almost chewy texture and a deep, mineral core that speaks unmistakably of its limestone terroir, all wrapped around a bright thread of acidity that keeps the wine taut rather than broad. It's a style that sits closer to Meursault than to the deliberately oxidative Vin Jaune tradition of the region — pure, saline, and layered, with the kind of textural depth that rewards a decant and a few years in the cellar.
