Château Lagrange is one of Saint-Julien's largest classified estates and has undergone a remarkable transformation since coming under the ownership of Japan's Suntory Group in the 1980s. Extensive vineyard redevelopment and careful investment have restored the château to the front ranks of the Médoc, with Cabernet Sauvignon thriving on the estate's deep gravel soils alongside Merlot and Petit Verdot.
The wines are refined, balanced and unmistakably Saint-Julien in style, offering aromas of cassis, blackberry, cedar and graphite with subtle floral notes. Fine tannins and restrained oak provide elegance rather than power, resulting in wines that are approachable after several years yet continue to reward long-term cellaring with increasing complexity and finesse.
