En Remilly is the wine in the Joseph Colin range that most directly proves a point — that exceptional Chardonnay terroir doesn't stop at the Puligny-Montrachet border. This plateau parcel sits so close to the grand cru zone that it lies just tens of metres from Le Montrachet itself, the most coveted dirt in white Burgundy. En Remilly is the cooler, higher end of Saint-Aubin, giving a Chardonnay built on tension and saline drive rather than weight. Joseph is the son of Marc Colin and younger brother of Pierre-Yves Colin — at 19 he began working full-time at Domaine Marc Colin, spending a decade alongside his father and older brother before effectively starting his own domaine in 2017 with around 6 hectares of vines from the original estate. His approach is to pick ripe grapes, press whole bunches and barrel down without the addition of sulfites or any settling — sulfur dioxide added only at bottling, with maturation now taking place almost exclusively in large 500 or 600-litre barrels. 

The wine bursts with aromas of pear, green apple, white flowers and pastry framed by a deft touch of reduction — medium to full-bodied, satiny and ample, pure, lively and saline. Unfurling in the glass with crisp green apple, lemon oil, freshly baked bread and white flowers, medium to full-bodied, ample and layered with a pure, precise profile — taut and energetic, the kind of bottle that delivers Puligny-level cut without the Puligny tariff.
