Les Suchots is a relatively recent addition to the Confuron-Gindre premier cru portfolio — and arguably the most prestigious address of the four. Les Suchots is the largest premier cru climat in the Vosne-Romanée appellation, separating the grand crus Échezeaux and Romanée-Saint-Vivant — a position of extraordinary adjacency that has led generations of Burgundy scholars to question why Les Suchots was not elevated to grand cru status in the 1930s classification. The Confuron-Gindre parcel of 37 ares sits within this vast climat, which adjoins the premier cru Malconsorts on its higher section and finishes on deeper, more distinctly clay soils on its lower portion — a diversity within the single parcel that the domaine accounts for through careful vinification, 18 months in oak with the same respectful, unhurried approach applied across all the premier crus, and bottling guided by the lunar calendar. 

Where Les Chaumes is generous and textural and Les Brûlées is powerful and structured, Les Suchots occupies a compelling middle ground — the closest in the Confuron-Gindre range to the classic Vosne-Romanée aromatic signature of extraordinary perfume allied to silky concentration. The upper section of the parcel touching Malconsorts brings finesse and minerality; the lower section's clay adds flesh and weight — the two combined in a wine that carries the full breadth of what this celebrated lieu-dit can offer. Expect rose petals, dark cherry, fine spice and a mineral thread of real precision running through the palate to a long, persistent finish — a wine that speaks unmistakably of Vosne at its most complete, from a domaine that the world is only now beginning to discover properly.
