Domaine Dujac Chambolle-Musigny 2015
Jacques Seysses came to wine through his father Louis, a biscuit manufacturer with a genuine passion for good food and fine wine — a passion Jacques inherited and decided to take a step further, training under the legendary Gérard Potel at Domaine de la Pousse d'Or before founding what became Domaine Dujac. His guiding philosophy has always been one of near-total trust in terroir: intervene as little as possible, and let the fruit and the site speak for themselves. This village Chambolle-Musigny is blended from several parcels including Les Drazeys, Les Argillières, and Les Frémières, sitting in an appellation famous above all for perfume and finesse — the Côte de Nuits village that borders both the Musigny Grand Cru and Les Amoureuses, a Premier Cru some argue deserves Grand Cru status in its own right. Made with the same meticulous, hands-off approach applied across the entire domaine, it's consistently ranked among the most refined village-level Chambolle bottlings made by anyone.
Vintage to vintage the wine shows a real signature: cassis, rose petal, and red berries meet fragrant spice and juicy pomegranate or strawberry notes, with a lovely, layered nose and fine Chambolle minerality running throughout. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied, bright, and vibrant, with a silky, delicate core of red fruit balanced by fresh acidity and powdery, structuring tannins.
