Founded in 1969 by Aldo Conterno after leaving his family's historic Giacomo Conterno estate, Poderi Aldo Conterno has become one of Barolo's defining producers. Based in the prestigious Bussia cru in Monforte d'Alba, the estate combines meticulous vineyard management with a philosophy that respects tradition while embracing careful refinement. Today, the Conterno family continues to produce some of Piedmont's most highly regarded Nebbiolo from exceptional hillside vineyards.

The wines capture the power and structure of Bussia while retaining remarkable elegance and precision. Long macerations and ageing in large Slavonian oak casks allow the fruit and terroir to shine, producing Barolos with layers of dark cherry, rose, liquorice, spice and fine mineral notes. While approachable in outstanding vintages, the flagship single-vineyard wines reward decades of cellaring and are recognised among Italy's greatest expressions of Nebbiolo.
